Meet the Staff
Botanica Day Spa was founded in 1994 originally owned by Amy Lidman and was the first day spa ever in Clearwater. Gen Obolensky became the owner in May of 2004. At Botanica Day Spa our goal is to provide our guests a welcoming and relaxing atmosphere, and friendly personable service with staff that are knowledgeable on how to make you look and feel your best. For anybody looking for anything from a quick manicure on your lunch break to a full day of pampering and beautifying. Among the services we offer are Micro Dermabrasion, Facial Sculpting and we were recently featured in Lucky magazine for our signature treatment the Mountain Glow Honey Butter Scrub. We’re proud of our staff and their talents and would like to take this opportunity to introduce them.
Gen Obolensky -(Owner/Full Specialist) Gen started working at Botanica in 1998 as an assistant and after seeing how great people felt after leaving the spa she decided to go to school and become a full specialist. She believes the warm and personal service at Botanica is what sets us apart from other spas. In 2000 Gen graduated from Lorraines Academy a full specialist. On May 1st 2004 Gen became the proud owner of Botanica Day Spa. Gen regularly attends continuing education classes. Her favorite services to perform are waxing and lash extensions.
Yana Spiridakos - (Aesthetician) Yana has always been drawn to the beauty industry and is especially amazed by how proper skin care and quality products can transform skin conditions. She graduated from Elite Academy in 2001. She enjoys pampering people and making them feel relaxed during their treatments. Her favorite service is facials.
Tina Dharni - (Aesthetician) Fascinated by cosmetics since a child, Tina graduated from Elite Academy in 2001 and has been calling Botanica Day Spa home since then. Tina is our only staff member trained in the ancient Indian art of Threading. She loves the cozy and homey environment at Botanica Day Spa.
Michelle Tenney - (Massage Therapist - Lic #MA29481) Michelle is extremely interested healing touch and became a massage therapist after graduating from the Cortiva Institute-The Humanities Center School of Massage in 1999. Currently in Pre Med School, Michelle recently completed a continuing education course in Reflexology. She specializes in prenatal and pediatric massage and is our Aromatherapy expert.
Sheena Joslin - (Full Specialist) Sheena always enjoyed painting her friends nails as a kid and loved getting her nails done so it was an easy decision for her to attend the Chemistry School of Beauty becoming a licensed nail tech in 2003. She more recently acquired her aesthetics license in 2009. She loves her coworkers and clients at Botanica and is aspiring to further her studies by going to skin care school one day soon.
Van Paschal - (Full Specialist) Van attended the American Institute of Beauty and graduated in 2006 as an aesthetician. She became a full specialist after attending the Academy of Business and Beauty in 2007 completing their nail program. Van became interested in the industry because she was looking for a career that combined her love of skin care and cosmetics and her love of socializing and making new friends. She came to Botanica because she loves the friendly atmosphere and the teamwork of the staff.
Ashlee Macdonald - (Full Specialist) Ashlee decided to get into the beauty industry after becoming fascinated by skin care. She attended the Vancouver School of Beauty and became an aesthetician in 2003. She recently graduated from the School of Beauty and Business and became a licensed nail tech. Ashlee states what she like most about Botanica Day Spa is our professionalism. Her favorite services here are facials, pedicures and body treatments.
Donni Tompkins - (Massage Therapist - Lic #MA32889) has been practicing massage since Graduating from Cortiva/Humanities School in 2000 and currently sits on an Advisory Board with the school. As of 11/1/09 she has completed 10,000 hands on hrs of massage and has been a Reiki Master since 2003. She spent almost 5 years working in a chiropractic office handling accident/injury and sports massage. She is a Doula & practices Prenatal Massage massage, Lymph Massage, Active Isolated Stretching, Japanese Anma Massage as well as being a Certified Neuromuscular Therapist.
