My Botanica Story: Yana Berry, Aesthetician

I think I applied to work at Botanica twice in one month. After the first time, Gen (the spa owner) told me that she wasn’t hiring – but I wasn’t having it! I had no idea what was in store for me at Botanica, but I knew I was supposed to work here and I’m so glad I persisted.

I remember when I first started, Gen told me that I would have to do Brazilian waxing. I was honestly a little taken aback by this, but after a few waxes I found my niche. Now here I am 10 years later, and my co-workers call me the master of the Brazilian wax.

I love giving facials and helping clients tackle their skin conditions and making them feel young and beautiful with proper skincare. I am grateful for the opportunity to be able to provide effective and natural treatments like the plant stem cell facial and dermaplaning, because I get to see instant results and how wonderful my clients feel.

I’m blessed to say that I love coming to work and making people feel beautiful. And of course, if I had never applied to work at Botanica then I would have never found my husband, Ed, who I met when one of my clients set us up on a blind date.

I came to Botanica looking for a job, and instead I found life-long friends and a career I truly am passionate about.
