Local Day Spa Celebrates 20^th Birthday in Clearwater by Giving Back to Local Animals in Need

December 16, 2014 (Clearwater, FL) – 

During the event, attendees were encouraged to make a contribution of cash or supplies to the SPCA Tampa Bay who were present and accepting donations. Botanica awarded contributors each a raffle ticket for over $1200 in spa prizes which were given out later in the evening. The evening’s festivities included a free screening of the holiday movie Elf along with a photo booth (provided by Left Turn Photo), a spa gift bag for all attendees, complimentary popcorn and soda for the movie as well as cupcakes made by local bakers, Designer Cakes and Desserts.

“This event was our way of saying thank you to our clients, neighbors and friends for 20 years of success. The Botanica family has grown so much over the years, and we feel truly lucky to be surrounded by such wonderful who allow us to do what we love,” said Botanica Day Spa’s owner, Gen Obolensky.

The personal decision to make SPCA Tampa Bay the benefactor for Botanica’s event came after Gen experienced the suffering of her own dogs at home, both of whom were diagnosed with cancer this year. Gen says raising awareness and donations for the organization which takes in more than 9,000 homeless and abandoned pets each year, is her way of giving back helping animals who are less fortunate. “I am truly touched by the warmth and generosity of all who attended our anniversary party,” added Gen on the event which raised more than $600 in cash donations as well as a sizable pile of supplies including blankets, toys, towels and food. "We are so appreciative of the support we receive from organizations like Botanica. Their ownership and clients’ enthusiasm for helping the animals at SPCA Tampa Bay is amazing,” said Chris Harrell, Managing Director for Development at the SPCA’s Tampa Bay chapter. “We are so pleased that we were given the opportunity to celebrate their birthday with them. Their generosity will support our mission of finding new families for our homeless and abandoned animals."
