5 Vitamins You Should be Taking for Glowing Skin

Many of us rely on regular facials, expensive serums, and skin illuminators to achieve a glowing, radiant complexion.  Sometimes we forget that we should be working from the inside out in order for our skin to look its best.  Here are some of the vitamins you should be taking to treat some of the most common skin problems.

Luminous Skin Vitamins

Anti-oxidants are the best vitamins for the skin because they can protect the skin against sun and free radical damage while promoting elasticity.  Look for supplements such as grape seed extract, green tea, or bilberry extract; they are rich in ant-oxidants.  Fish oil is also helpful for glowing skin because it helps oxygenate the skin.

Acne Vitamins

Acne is a common skin issue that can start plaguing us in our teen years; unfortunately, it can still be a problem for many adults.  While it can be caused by a variety of factors, excess oil is a major culprit.  Zinc is a vitamin that can help control oil production in the skin, leaving your skin looking clearer and more radiant.  Zinc is also great for those who suffer from oily skin in general.

Battle Dryness with B Vitamins

B Vitamins can help to restore the lipid layer of your skin and can soothe red, irritated skin.  If you want to avoid taking multiple vitamins a day, incorporate more avocado in your diet.  They provide amazing B Vitamin benefits to your skin.  Egg yolks and nuts are great sources of Vitamin B1, which boots circulation in the body, giving your skin a healthy glow.

Irritated, Red Skin

Battle against red, irritated skin with the anti-inflammatory benefits of fish oil and olive oil.  Nutrient avocado can also help ease redness in your skin.  Niacin, or Vitamin B3, also restores moisture to skin that is sensitive and itchy.

Vitamin K

Everyone knows that the eyes are one of the first things to give our age away because the skin around them is so thin and fragile.  Despite getting enough sleep every night and keeping a healthy diet, our eyes can still make us look older due to dark circles.  Leaking capillaries are a common culprit behind dark eye circles.  Vitamin K can help clot the blood around the eye area, making your eye look younger and brighter.

Remember, there are many factors that can contribute to the aging of skin, so you need multiple forms of defense and repair to ensure your skin is healthy and glowing.  With the right diet and effective skincare routine, your skin will be glowing and beautiful at any age.

Love,
